Meet Nicole Romine

Nicole Romine joined Lubnau Law in 2026. Nicole brings nearly two decades of legal experience to Lubnau Law, with a career spanning complex litigation, government representation, and high‑level leadership. Get to know Nicole in this month’s feature!

1. If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?

I'd have to say a jackalope. As a longtime roller derby skater, my derby name is "Jackedalope," so the mythical Wyoming creature feels fitting. It's a little unconventional, a little elusive, and has more grit than people might expect. Plus, a proper Wyoming jackalope is rumored to appreciate a fine whiskey.

2. When did you know you wanted to be a lawyer?

As a child, I cared deeply about justice and fairness. Much of that stemmed from being bullied because of a speech impediment and understanding what it feels like to struggle to be heard. When I realized there was a profession dedicated to advocating for others and giving a voice to people who felt powerless, I knew I wanted to be a lawyer. I pride myself on being a good listener and helping clients clearly identify their concerns. From there, we work together to develop a legal strategy that aligns with their goals and gives them confidence moving forward.

3. Why do you continue to practice law? What do you enjoy about what you do?

I enjoy helping people solve problems and find peace of mind. For nearly two decades, I prosecuted criminal cases and helped victims and their families navigate the justice system during some of the most difficult times in their lives. Today, I have the privilege of using those same skills to help individuals, families, and business owners plan for the future. Whether I'm helping someone create an estate plan or address a legal concern, I enjoy providing guidance that helps people feel informed, confident, and prepared.

4. What is your favorite weekend activity (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring)?

Roller derby is a big part of my life, so you'll often find me skating, coaching, or helping develop the sport in Wyoming. When the weather is mild, I enjoy hiking with my husband, Johnny. In the winter, I'm perfectly happy spending a weekend on the couch with my husband and two cats watching hockey.

5. What is one of your favorite places in Wyoming?

The Wind River Range is one of my favorite places in Wyoming. I once backpacked to Squaretop Mountain, and the trip felt almost magical. The scenery is breathtaking, and it's a place that reminds me why Wyoming is such a special place to live and explore.
